Rhodes Scholarship Application
A Rhodes Scholarship covers all your university and college fees.
It provides a living allowance of £18,180 per year (starting from the academic year 2023/24), a settling-in allowance, health insurance, visa expenses, and two economy-class flights to and from the UK for the beginning and end of your studies at Oxford.

Eligibility for the Rhodes Scholarship
To be eligible for the Rhodes Scholarships, you need to meet the following criteria:
1. Citizenship & Residency: You must fulfill the citizenship and residency requirements of the Rhodes constituency you’re applying for.
2. Age: If you’re applying between 18 and 24 years old, your birth date should be between October 2, 1998, and October 1, 2005. If you finished your first undergraduate degree later than usual, you can be under 27 years old on October 1, 2023 (born after October 1, 1996) and completed your first degree on or after October 1, 2022.
3. Education: You should have completed an undergraduate degree ( a Bachelor’s degree) with a First Class Honours Degree or an equivalent grade that meets or exceeds the entry requirements for your chosen full-time course at the University of Oxford.
4. English Language: You must have a strong command of English, meeting the University of Oxford’s language proficiency requirements at the Higher Level.

Eligible Countries for the Rhodes Scholarship
The following countries are all eligible for the scholarship:
1. Australia, Bermuda, Canada, China:
- Eligibility for Rhodes Scholarships extends to candidates from Australia, Bermuda, Canada, and China.
2. Commonwealth Caribbean:
- Including countries such as Anguilla, Antigua, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Montserrat, St. Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Vincent, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
3. East Africa:
- Candidates from East African countries like Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Sudan, and Burundi are eligible.
4. Germany:
- German students are also included among the eligible candidates for Rhodes Scholarships.
5. Hong Kong SAR, India, Israel, Jamaica, Kenya, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore:
- This group encompasses a diverse range of countries, including Hong Kong SAR, India, Israel, Jamaica, Kenya, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore.
6. Southern Africa:
- Encompassing countries such as South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, and Eswatini (formerly Swaziland).
7. Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, United Arab Emirates:
- Candidates from the Middle East, including Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, and the United Arab Emirates, are eligible for the scholarship.
8. United States:
- Open to candidates from all 50 states of the United States, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories including American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
9. West Africa:
- Covering West African nations like Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, the island of Saint Helena, Senegal, Sierra Leone, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Togo.
10. Zambia and Zimbabwe:
- Candidates from Zambia and Zimbabwe in Southern Africa are also eligible for the Rhodes Scholarships.
