How to find your IBAN Number

Hello, are you looking for how to find your IBAN number which is especially needed during international transactions like payments, wire transfer, funds transfer as well as receiving international payments.

It is noteworthy to know that most Nigeria Banks don’t provide for IBAN number because they believe that as a bank user you should already know it which is pretty much easier to note, and that it why today I’m going to show you how to get your IBAN number for international transactions for any country – this logic of getting your IBAN number works and it is the same for every country, below is all you need to know.

What is IBAN Number

According to Wikipedia, The IBAN which is The International Bank Account Number is an internationally agreed system of identifying bank accounts across national borders to facilitate the communication and processing of cross border transactions with a reduced risk of transcription errors.

Is IBAN the same as SWIFT

No, IBAN is not the same as SWIFT code, and the primary difference is that a SWIFT code is used to identify a specific bank during an international transaction, whereas an IBAN is used to identify an individual account involved in the international transaction

How can I find my IBAN number

Finding your IBAN Number is pretty much easy, an IBAN Number is a combination of your Bank SWIFT code plus your account number written together without spacing or special characters.

For example; if your Bank SWIFT code is BHD676889 and your Account number is 0987654321 your IBAN Number should be the combination of your SWIFT code first plus your account Number which is BHD6768890987654321 – now that is your IBAN Number, and like I said this is the same for everybody and everywhere except in some cases where your bank writes your personal IBAN Number on your cheque book or you can simply ask your bank to check if there’s any IBAN Number specifically attached to your account it there isn’t any attached then the above is the only option to getting your IBAN Number for online and international transactions both onshore and offshore payments too.
